First roleZhao Wei first role is Gong Li's Hua Hun(english tittle: Soul of a Painter ) filmed in 1994(or 1995?).The director is a chiese female director named Huang Shuqin. Gong Li(left),Zhao Wei(right) After filming the movie,Zhao dicieded to be an actress.Then she started her acting career.  During filming,the director said that Zhao Wei will be an real actress. In fact,she just was a student.

Enter the gate of artThanks to Xie Jin,he lead me enter the gate of art.----Zhao Wei(CCTV-3 Art Life,June 2001)Then she pass the text and enter the China first generation director Xie Jin(л½ú)'s Xie Jin Film & TV School During studied in the school,she filmed her movie debut Nu Er Gu(Å®¶ù¹È)(english tittle: Penitentiary Angel).She have most senses as a student.The movie won the 1996 Beijing Student Film Festival special hounor award.And screen in a Japanese film festival in 1999.  Becuase of her talent,she got a leading role in her TV drama debut.The drama named Jie Jie Mei Mei Chuang Bei Jing(½ã½ãÃÃÃô³±±¾©)(englih tittle: Sisters in Beijing).Although the drama got highest rating in Beijing TV first season,she didnt shot fame.

Beijing Film AcademyZhao Wei entered Beijing Film Academy in 1996.Her enter text was highest acting score.And her other subjects also ranked 1.  During the go over for the text,she filmed the solo female role(only 4 sense) in Zhang Yuan(ÕÅÔª)'s gay film Dong Gong Xi Gong(¶«¹¬Î÷¹¬)(english tittle: East Palace West Palace).The movie not only joined Cannes Film Festival,but also won 3 awars of Mar del Plata Film Festival(Best Director,Best Screenplay,Special Mention).

I havent seen the film.It didnt release in chinese Cinema.(It is said that the movie were banned 4 or 5 years).

Singer CareerIn 1999,Zhao released her first album SWALLOW and second album MAGIC OF LOVE.The first album sold more than 500,000 in mainland,600,000 in Taiwan(beyond Faye Wong)(the others asian countries data is unkown).The second album sold more than 1,000,000 in mainland(the others asian countries data is unkown). Most of the mainland music critics said that both of the albums are just so so.But some the songs are kown by whole nation.(For example, There is a girl, Bo Lang Gu, True Heart, Since I own you, Magic of Love)

Huan Zhu Ge Ge is boring!Little swallow is a easy to act!""In fact,she just can act little swallow.""Zhao Wei is theworst contemporary actress in China!"Then,an incident make the attack nation wide. one thing i've noticed are her eyes..... but then again, who wouldnt notice her eyes?
and too bad about the press conference thing...... i think they really wouldnt want her to win, they're prejudiced
