i have been reading articles from the net about the Super Girl talent search and it just seems like its really doing good...... did u have a chance to watch an episode?
and jewel in the palace seems like a good drama as well..... i'll see if i can catch an episode of that as well when it comes out......

About the plot and costume
New version of Moment in Peking is more compacted, beginning in 1928-1936 (compare to orignal book 1900-1938).
The 1980's version of Moment in Peking is purely costume drama, where as new version incopporate traditional value and modern appeal.
Vicki's performance is unique, therefore win the role of Yao Mulan over other actresses such as Shuiling ....
About the promotion and screening
CCTV purchased this drama with 35 million yuan price tag. Each episode worth 730,000 yuan. In compare to CCTV bid for "Jewels of the Palace" (10,000 yuan per episode).
CCTV earn 65 million yuan from advertisment time slot (September 26-30), profit of 30 million yuan, and can easily broke record of 100 million yuan in advertisemtn
CCTV will screen this drama on October 18, 2005
CCTV will hold press conference for the premier of this drama on October 10, with the participation of Vicki and cast of Moment in Peking.
CCTV-run promotion for this drama, by trailers, and Vicki's MV Faxian.
TW will begin to screen this drama in November..

soundtrack's out finally.... i missed the copy of double with the bonus sountrack..... looks like cctv is gearing up for mip's release and eventual "war" with jewel in the palace..... i think u said they dont have the same timeslot but it wont be helped to compare the two shows
