All of them are doing TV drama.
There are 4 famous star in China now.
Guo Xiaodong,have a good performance in Nuan directed by Huo Jianqi(the same director of A Time to Love),and won Best Actor in Tokyo Film Festival.
Then he filmed a China-Korea made morden drama Beijing,my love.
Chen Kun and Huang Xiaoming are famous actor in China now.
Chen Kun is famouse for two 1930's drama,Like mist and rain,Jin Fen Family.
Huang Xiaoming is famouse for Princess III and King of Han period.
I think only King of Han period is OK.
Zhang Heng,a rising actress.She filmed Princess I with Vicki,acted a Xizang princess.In another morden fashion drama Pink Gril,she acted a bad woman.She always be a supporting actress.

why wont they try the big screen? must be waiting for the right material.....
ive heard that princess pearl 3 did not do good mainly bec. wei wasnt in it anymore....

In China,most of stars films' box office are very low.
Only Zhang Ziyi,Zhao Wei's films' have a good box office.
But Zhao Wei's Green Tea and My Dream Girl box office are just so so.Goddess of Mercy is just OK.
Zhang Ziyi's Butterfly and My Parents box office are very low.
Most of art films box office hard to have a good box office in China.
So,if they are not famous enough,no director will work with them.

i see...... just a little off topic, what was the title again of ziyi's film? "my parents"? who did she star with?
it understandable if producers & directors dont want to gamble w/ rising stars.... specially w/ the slump in the film industry these days.......they would want to have bankable stars to be in their film of course

i have just noticed that those two (zhang ziyi & zhao wei) are not really in the good side of the chinese media.... they say ziyi is famous in the west & bec. of that she has forgotten her roots..... zhao wei on the other hand they cant forgive for the jap flag incident.....

yes,but chinese media treat Zhang Ziyi much better than Vicki now.(because she is more and more famous in international market)
:-/More and more China mainland media said that Zhao Wei shouldnt be such a super star.And they always said that Zhao Wei is a horrible actress.They alway said that Zhao Wei is only famous in mainland & Hong Kong.They never report Vicki is hot in other asian countries.
You're right.Most important reason is the japan flag pic.
Most of them said that they wont forget the incident and forgive Vicki forever.Few Chinese on the web said that they want to kill Vicki.
Because of Vicki's acting have a great improve,some popular Chinese film magazines give Vicki a high praise.

well, they (the media) shouldnt be like that..... of course everybody has their own opinion but they shoudnt try to wreck wei's career every single opportunity they have..... its too low for them..... anyways, wei is proving them wrong w/ the major improvement she has not only in her acting but also in her singing career as well...... man, its very unfair for wei to be treated like that......

Lots of them envy Vicki,because she is too famous in Asia.They always said that Zhao Wei only have lucky. again, thats too low for them.... if an artist becomes famous because he/she is just lucky then their "star power" doesnt last long..... people will realize that that artist doesnt have any talent, maybe a few hardcore fans will be left but that'll be it...... wei has been in the business for ten years now right? (or almost 10) & she's not just famous in china/hk/taiwan.... she's famous the world over...... she has non-chinese speaking fans when she hasnt done a single english project..... that is a feat in itself, not to mention the awards she has been getting...... now, about that jap flag incident, china is not the only country that was ravaged by the japanese during the ww II...... its a matter of forgive & forget...... what happened in the past has happened & nothing can change it |

If Zhao Wei's any film/TV drama/album realesed,there will be some bad reviews. Oh,do you know Vicki was attacked by one people in the end of 2001? After attacking incident,more than 65% media and people on the net praise that men.  |
